About Kelsie
I have a diverse work background in education and corporate leadership. I earned my BS in Elementary Education from UNCG in 2012 and began my career as a Middle School Science teacher. I was selected in 2014 to be a NC Kenan Fellow, where I was provided extensive leadership training and the opportunity to develop curriculum for a Citizen Science project. I was able to travel to Guadalajara, Mexico with the scientists and museum leaders to help connect classrooms between the US and Mexico by examining mammals in their school yards through camera traps. Through my work as a Kenan Fellow, in 2014, I was awarded the NC Environmental Science Teacher of the Year award.
Transitioning to the corporate world, I have held leadership positions at both AT&T and Bank of America, and earned a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Boston University in 2016. With my education background, I was able to utilize my transferable skills into the corporate sector which allowed me to grow quickly in my roles. Currently, I work as a Process Design Consultant, blending my passion for teaching with my extensive corporate experience to deliver content for multiple teams.
As a lifelong learner, I wanted to select a program that would directly impact the work that I currently do and the UC Masters in Instructional Design & Technology courses have beautifully complemented my current work on my team. My leaders have seen an increase in my acumen and ability to drive change within my organization to deliver authentic learning experiences for business analysts. My goal is to continue to grow the training library for the teams that my organization supports and provide pivotal changes to how our employees are developed.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, riding my horses, and going on RV trips with our two dogs, Oreo and Roxi!
